During the Hi-Pro Feeds Dealer Symposium in March, a cheque for $2,500 was presented to the Canadian Para-Equestrian Team. The proceeds were generated from the sales of the Step Right Premium Equine Feed® line of apple/flax, peppermint and licorice horse treats in 2014.

Para-Equestrian sport provides riders with physical impairments the opportunity to compete against other riders with similar abilities. Many Para-Equestrian athletes also compete alongside able-bodied competitors inEquine Canada competitions. At the grass roots level, Para-Equestrian encompasses a number of different disciplines, while the international stream focuses only on Para-Dressage. Para-Equestrian is one of Canada's most successful equestrian disciplines, achieving an individual silver medal and an individual bronze medal at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games, an individual gold medal and an individual silver medal at the 2008 Paralympic Games, and two individual bronze medals at the 2004 Paralympic Games.

“We are pleased to present the Canadian Para-Equestrian Team with these dollars on behalf of our horse treat sales,” states Holly Nicoll, Director of Marketing for Hi-Pro Feeds. “Our horse customers and dealers have really supported this program across western Canada, and we look forward to continuing it through 2015.”

The Hi-Pro Feeds product portfolio has contributed to award winning animals across Canada. This includes the Step Right Premium Equine Feed® Program that matches the diverse needs of horses through every stage or activity level of their life. Backed by experienced equine nutritionists, each of the products considers whether your horse is performing on the track, in an arena or on a winding trail through the mountains.

“Hi-Pro Feeds is a valued partner of the Canadian Para-Equestrian Team,” said Anna Johnson, Manager of Para-Equestrian, Equine Canada. “As an industry leader in high performance feed, we are very proud to have the continued support of Hi-Pro Feeds.”
